Nine people killed after matatu collides with lorry on Eldoret-Kitale road

nine people perished on Friday morning after a matatu plying the Eldoret – Kitale route collided head-on with a lorry at Chemoset area in Soy. Confirming the incident, Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Benjamin Mwanthi said four other passengers with serious injuries have been rushed to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret. Mwanthi said it is suspected that the matatu was on high speed before veering off its lane, thereby causing the accident.
